In 2016 Holy Innocents Parish decided to put together an annual report to send out to parishioners and donors. Since I had been designing other marking pieces for them I decided to assemble something nice to thank the donors while also promoting what the school has been doing for educational improvements. I’ve detailed below the evolution of this project over the past (almost) 10 years. (Click here to see all of the annual reports)

2016: The First

Like anything at its infantile stage, it was basic. I wanted to acknowledge all of the donors as well as highlight some of the advances in the school over the past year. In realizing that I needed to fill an entire page with content, I had the idea to include reflections from a handful of alumni that highlight the impact that Holy Innocents School had on their educational journey.

This basic layout continued for a few more years until….

2022: The Evolution

Early in 2022 it was established that the school would be getting (much needed) new windows. In order to raise funds we created a campaign and focused the upcoming annual appeal at increasing donations for this initiative. To maximize the reach I decided to combine the appeal with the annual report. This expansion paved the way for transitioning the annual report from a simple list of thank you’s into a more detailed report about what has been happening at The Inn…

2024: The Present

This is the most current annual report. In addition to the list of donors, the report includes short articles about notable events over the past year as well as sentimental reflections from school families and recent graduates.

My goal with this report has been to keep evolving it to meet the needs of the school; showcase what’s new and momentous while recognizing those who have helped HIS along the way. I aim to create a connection with the reader to show that their generosity is directly benefiting the current students as well as the generations to come.
