Cirque du Soleil
For about 2 years, I was working and touring with Cirque du Soleil’s VOLTA. During that time, I created a few projects just for fun for myself and friends.
Sorority Shirts
The unofficial Volta sorority: Volta Omega Alpha.
As I was living in a house of 5 girls, it quickly became a joke amongst co-workers that we were a “sorority house.” After a few long weeks of work, a bit of sleep deprivation, and some late night inspiration, the idea struck me: a tour-specific “sorority”.
On the back, the design mirrors the traditional lettering of university Greek life while incorporating the hexagonal shapes that are part of the show. The “letters” are stylized in the font of the Volta logo. The front features the inspirational message of the show, “Find your free”.
ATL Stickers
A random strike of inspiration: a small sticker to commemorate the tour stopping in Atlanta, GA. The design incorporates the ATL abbreviation within the Volta logo. The color themes showcase the diversity of the different groups of characters in the show: the Free Spirits, the Grays, and the Elites.
LA Stickers
As the tour stopped in Los Angeles, CA, I created another version of the city stickers. While I started this design back in 2020 when I was in LA, it took over a year (well into 2021) to settle on a final concept. Since LA unexpectedly ended up being the final city for Volta, I finished out this design as a final souvenir in memory of the show.
Holiday Crafts
As the holidays come around, like to take the time to create some pieces by hand. To add a little Volta flair to my decorations and gifts, I created these up-cycled pieces from old tickets, popcorn bags, and programs.
After spending 2 holidays away from home, I decided to add a Cirque/Volta theme to my holiday cards since we were forced home due to the pandemic. I used my Cricut to add some 3D text to the front, and created a removable ornament that could be hung as decor.
